Meet Squeakers

This handsome chap is gonna be my last foster cat.
He is so affectionate and sweet.

Always greets me with a squeak, and wants lots of head rubs.
Yes this cat will most likely be my last foster cat, there has been a change in my circumstances and I can no longer foster. I am very sad but I am sure one day I will be able to foster again.

Storm has gone

Yesterday due to my holiday commitments Storm and her nearly 4 week old kittens(Thunder, Lighting and Raindrop) have gone to the adoption centre, which is the best place as they are on medication and they are all sneezing and have runny eyes. Poor things they didn't have the best start in life and so far they have had to fight from day one.
I do wish them all the best.

Another sad day

Another kitten has gone, it was very poorly, I took it to the Adoption centre for one of the staff to hand feed it over night, but unfortunately it was too poorly, and the decision was made this morning to put the little chap to sleep.
Rest in peace little one.

I am taking Mum cat and the remaining kittens tothe vets to be checked over just in case.

Wednesday, 31 July 2013

Just wanted to share with you what I have been up to lately. A while back I organised a Calendar competition for the Derby Adoption Centre, with people filling in an application form and £1 per photo to enter. We have over 100 entries which was fabulous.
The next step was deciding the winners. So after I numbered all the photos, I asked the staff and volunteers to pick their 12 favourite photos.
So we have the 12 winners who all got a slimline version of the Calendar for winning.
And finally the calendars are printed and for sale!

Sadly one of Storm's kittens died in the night, I knew something was wrong last night as I rang someone from CP to get advice, but sadly even though I followed the advice the kitten had died.
So there are 4 kittens left all are feeding well.

The lovely Cally went to the Adoption centre yesterday, as she is such a sweet cat I am sure she will be adopted fairly soon.

Today I am off to fetch a Mum cat who gave birth whilst out in the storm we had yesterday here in the UK.

Calico cat

This little sweetheart was found as a stray, pregnant but spayed when she went to the vets.
She is so small and young the poor thing.

I am still pondering what to call her...any ideas?

I am hoping to build her confidence before she goes to the adoption centre.

Bon Voyage

The Boys
The girls
Sansa and Arya
The kittens all went to the centre on the 24th June.
Whilst Catalyn went today 2/7/13. When the kittens went to the adoption centre, Mum made such a racket that night, the next day she had to go to the vets to be spayed. She is still quite vocal but not as bad as that!!
I hope they find their forever homes soon!

My current fosters are growing, they are five weeks old

Tomorrow these six will be going to another fosterer as I am going on holiday, I need a rest from CP work.
I do hope these cats thrive and find great homes, especially Catalyn. She needs a loving home.

Moving on

Well Tiggi is now spayed and all three have had their 1st Vaccinations so they are going to the adoption centre tomorrow, I hope it is not too long before they find a forever home.

I will miss them!!

The Cat Cabin won't be empty for long, I have been told my next fosters are a Mum and five kittens, well that should be fun!!

Tiggi and her two remaining kittens are doing fine, the kittens are still a little skittish as were when I first got them, but they are coping better at being held, but not for long.

Tiggi is ready to be neutered now she is getting very vocal and trying to get out. Kittens will be 11 weeks this friday, and are fully weaned.
They will all soon be ready for re homing, and I am sure they will be snapped up as they are very pretty cats.

Lickle Pip

Took my fosters to the vets yesterday, Lickle Pip has problems, the little sweet thing has a congential problem his rib cage isn't quite right and is half the weight and size of his siblings, also has Cat flu the vet says. So I am giving him his medication as well as some Cimicat Milk to see if that helps.
When I first gave him the milk he nearly chewed the syringe end off, which makes me wonder if he has been getting any milk from Mum, the poor chap was starving!
The other two are eating meat with Mum but poor Pip hasn't tried any yet, well not whilst I have been there.
Will keep you updated with any progress!

Derby Adoption Centre Cats Protection have an Amazon Wishlist, which I think is a great idea, as sometimes you may wonder where your £1/£5/£10 that you donated goes, But with this wishlist you can choose where your money goes, if you want to buy a toy for the cats or buy some stamps for the many newsletters/corresponse that the centre have to send out on a daily basis. Or  you would like to buy some food for the Cats, or feel like buying a brush so the Cats can be pampered, Bowls,Litter trays are many of the items on the wishlist.

Here is little Pip
And Tiggy the Mum
Here is Gus
They are all doing so well, Tiggy is trying to get outside so I have to be careful when going in and out, Luckily I had the porch bit done on the pen that makes it more secure.
The kittens are into everything, so sweet. They will make lovely cats.
I will try and get more photos for you

Sad day!

On Weds 20th Feb, I went to the Vets to fetch my next foster cat, A 20 year old spayed female no longer wanted by her owner as she was weeing everywhere, suspected Cystitis no treatment given. When I fetched the cat she had gunky eyes I mentioned this to the vet nurse who said if it persists bring her back to the vets.
By Friday I took her back to the Vets as the very friendly sweet cat, had a limp tail which she had no feeling in what so ever and also eyes were runny still.
They think she had been in some sort of traffic accident.
The Vets said the only thing they could do is put her to sleep.
After numerous phone calls to the foster co ordinator and having to take her and leave her at the vets over the weekend. I have found out today that they have decided to put her to sleep.
I am very angry that this injury was missed by the vets. And there is nothing I can do about it.

Princess Jezebel

Noel and Angel went to the Adoption centre on the 21st January and for the last four weeks I have had Princess Jezebel. Who today 18/2/13 has gone to the centre.

Jezebel is a sweet little thing very friendly she was abandoned by previous owner.
But hopefully she will soon get a new forever home.
